Derek Epp
-
Regional Director, Canada West

Derek came on staff in Calgary after 10 years of volunteering in BC. He has a heart to see future generations be developed into solid leaders: spiritually, in their schools, and eventually the workplace. Derek grew up in the Fraser Valley as an avid skateboarder, and is a Canadian Ticketed Steel Fabricator/ Welder. When he’s not skateboarding you’ll find him hanging with friends or on a road trip.

Jillian Snyder
- Area Director, Fraser Valley

Jillian has been involved with Skatelife since 2018 and was introduced to Skatelife through various connections. She became good friends with some of the Fraser Valley Skatelife leaders and girls who were learning to skate at the local skate parks during the summer of 2018. With the help of some friends Jillian and a few girls started up the first Skatelife girls/women skate club. Jillian is a medical nurse, enjoys skating, backcountry ski touring, and climbing with friends and family.

carissa dueck
- events and funding coordinator

Carissa has been selflessly involved with Skatelife in many capacities since 2007. Married to Jason, she is the proud mother to three incredible boys, Spencer, Dane and Elias. Carissa has the ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved and she demonstrates this weekly while volunteering at skate club in Calgary. We are excited to make it official and welcome her to the Skatelife staff team.

Julia Hood
-
Victoria Staff ASsociate

Julia first volunteered with Abbotsford Skatelife back in 2021. She was SO excited about the impact God had on the many skaters through Skatelife, she eventually joined the team in the summer of 2024 to start up a branch in Victoria! Julia gets stoked not only on skating, but also freestyle skiing, sailing, rollerblading, and tossing a frisbee with friends. She’s a mix between Dory from Finding Nemo and a Golden Retriever… who skateboards and loves Jesus.

zach creighton
-
calgary Staff ASsociate

Zach has been involved with Skatelife as a volunteer, summer staff, and organization partner since 2016, and officially joined the Skatelife team in 2024 to serve Calgary, where he, his wife Emily, and son Kit call home. When Zach isn't spending time with skateboarders or behind the lens, you'll find him snowboarding, or trying his hand at gardening.
